The purpose
of this collection of papers is to bring together researchers and language
teachers from the UK and around the world to discuss the challenges of teaching
speaking skills in second-language learning at the university level. The
contributors aim to help teachers improve the way speaking skills are taught by
connecting language-learning theory with real classroom practice.
This book
highlights the need to develop the still under-researched area of
speaking-skills pedagogy by presenting new studies, fresh ideas, and innovative
teaching methods—especially those that use new and emerging technologies.
